Monica Black
Director of Admissions / Administration Support
Monica felt an intuitive calling from Iboga and Bwiti for years before she discovered Moughenda in Gabon. She was seeking the medicine for personal psycho-emotional healing: feeling stuck, fragmented and disconnected in her life and living with pervasive anxiety, even after a decade of healing work, including other plant medicines.
Her first retreat back in 2016 felt like a massive physical and energetic cleanse and reset, and was a turning point for her in gaining self awareness and learning to take care of herself, honour her needs, and start being a conscious creator of her own life.
Monica began doing intake calls for Moughenda in 2016 and providing administrative support on a casual basis. In 2018, after her practice had grown, she joined the team assisting with email, intakes, communications, and administration on an ongoing basis. She loves communicating with applicants and supporting guests in this important part of your journey.
Monica travelled to Gabon for the first time in 2019 for her initiation into Missoko Bwiti.
She is based in Toronto, Canada, is a Mother, seasoned natural health clinician, and owner of a natural health clinic, specializing in detox. While Monica appreciates working remotely for Bwiti Life Centre, she is enjoying creating more space in her schedule to assist hands-on and face-to-face during retreats as well.
