Moughenda Mikala

10th Generation Missoko Bwiti Shaman

Moughenda is a 10th generation Missoko Bwiti Shaman.  He started ingesting Iboga while in utero during his mother’s pregnancy, and started apprenticing as a shaman under his Maternal Grandfather while he was still a child.  After decades of intensive training, apprenticeship, and going through many initiations, Moughenda took the role of lead shaman in his community.

Kango

Lead Bwiti Maboundi Singer

Kango, Moughenda’s daughter and the head of the Maboundi at Bwiti House, is a remarkable singer deeply rooted in the Bwiti Missoko tradition. Emerging from the heart of the jungle, she brings her soulful voice and ancestral wisdom to the Iboga retreats at Bwiti Life. With over 15 years of experience by her father’s side, Kango’s powerful singing and deep connection to Bwiti breathe life into each retreat, making every moment a profound and transformative experience.

Boussengue

Boussengue, a dedicated member of the Bwiti Missoko tradition, comes directly from the Bwiti House located in the Jungle, to perform live Bwiti music during retreats at Bwiti Life. With over 15 years of experience assisting Moughenda, Guy leads the musician team at Bwiti House and Bwiti Life.
