Is Iboga safe?
For most people, pure Iboga, taken under the care of a professional Provider and in a safe and appropriate environment, is 100% safe.
For some people its not. This is why the health assessment process is so important.
If you have a cardiovascular disease, or liver disease, for example, Iboga may not be safe for you.
If you are taking certain medications or narcotics around the same time you are taking Iboga, it could potentially be a deadly combination.
If you are looking into Iboga for the purposes of drug or alcohol addiction detox and you are using on a daily basis - please ensure that you work with a professional clinic or Provider who can help you execute this process safely and effectively.
Even for a psycho-spiritual ceremony,
Iboga is something you usually take just once, or a small handful of times in your life. If you feel called to work with Iboga, do it right. Do your research, find a reputatable Provider who can offer you pure medicine in a safe Bwiti ceremonial setting, and do your health assessment.
Groups generally range from 4-10 participants under the care of one trained Provider and at least two assistants.
Taken the necessary precautions with health assessment, EKG & medications review, and under the care of a professional Provider in a safe and appropriate environment, Iboga is 100% safe.
Very few people have heard of Iboga. If you are thinking of Iboga, or feel an intuitive pull towards it, then likely the plant has something important to offer you.
There is no strict diet required to prepare for Iboga. However we recommend a clean and healthy diet as much as possible leading up to your retreat.
In our experience this is rarely ever the case. Although we notice some people are scared before their first time working with the medicine, once the ceremony begins, usually the fear goes away, and the experience overall tends to be calm and peaceful.
Some people do, and some people don’t. Everyone is different. We would estimate about 35% of people feel nauseous during ceremony.
Unlike many other entheogens, Iboga is very grounding (it’s a root!), and you tend to feel very self-aware, and connected to yourself, your body, your life, and the environment around you throughout the process.
The price range varies based on room type, location, and health assessment. Our prices for a standard retreat program range from $3500 USD - $8000 USD for a regular, week-long session with two ceremonies.
Ayahuasca and Iboga are very different in nature, and are experienced very differently. With Ayahuasca, your sense of self may dissolve. Iboga is often compared to holding up a mirror to your self and your life.
