Before you travel

01 / Prepare

It starts with your story.

A conversation, your questions, and time to prepare. The team gets to know you, the physician reviews your screening, and together you establish whether this retreat is right for you.

Arrive. Exhale. Settle in.

We meet you at Cancún airport and welcome you to the center. Settle into your room, meet the physician and the people who will accompany you, and leave space for your first evening together.

03 / Experience

A tradition. A team. Time for you.

Fire talks, Bwiti music and practitioner guidance give the ceremony its traditional setting. The medical team supervises your care while Missoko Bwiti practitioners accompany the inward experience.

04 / Rest

Let the days have a gentler rhythm.

Rest in the garden, write, reflect and spend time by the cenote as your recovery allows. The schedule makes room for processing and integration, with the team nearby when you need them.

Your first step is a conversation

You do not need to have every answer.

Tell us what brings you here. We will talk through your questions and the screening process together.

Talk to the team

Step by step

Eight steps, in order

  1. 1. Apply, five minutes

The application form: the program and date you have in mind, who you are, and your story. Nothing medical yet. You get a confirmation and the calendar for your call.

  2. 2. Discovery call, thirty minutes

By phone or WhatsApp with Lisa, our onboarding lead, or a practitioner. Your intention, your questions, our honest first read on whether the program fits. No pressure, no sales script.

  3. 3. Medical and psychological screening

A detailed questionnaire, then an ECG and a blood panel done with your doctor or a lab near you. Dr Villarreal reviews everything and calls you. Tania, our psychologist, joins when the history asks for it. One to three weeks.

  4. 4. Clearance and confirmation

If the physician clears you, you receive a written confirmation with your dates, your room and the payment instructions. Full payment confirms the place. Eight per retreat, first confirmed, first served.

  5. 5. Preparation, two to four weeks

The preparation guidelines: diet, alcohol, medications and their tapers, what to bring, how to write your questions for the medicine. One preparation call with the team. Lisa stays reachable.

  6. 6. Arrival in Cancún

We pick you up at the airport, twenty minutes to the center. Intake with the physician, vitals, your room, the first fire talk in the evening. Nothing is given on day one.

  7. 7. The retreat

Ceremony nights with the medical team in the palapa, processing days, integration days at the cenote. Seven, ten or fourteen days depending on your program. Read the ceremony for the detail.

  8. 8. Three months after

We drive you back to the airport, and the care continues: four integration calls, the medical team and the psychologist reachable, your data reviewed against baseline. Then, if you want it, alumni calls at $100 an hour.

Questions about the process

Straight answers

How fast can I come?

Three weeks is the practical minimum: the ECG and bloodwork take time to schedule and review, and some medications need a taper. If a date is close and you are cleared, Lisa will tell you if a place is open.

Do I need a visa for Mexico?

Citizens of the United States, Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia and many other countries do not need a visa for a stay under 180 days; you fill in the entry form on arrival. Check your own nationality; Lisa can help.

What if I am declined?

The physician explains why, in writing if you want. Sometimes it is a no for now: a taper to complete, a test to redo, a condition to stabilize. We keep your file and tell you when it can be revisited.

Can I talk to someone before applying?

Yes. Book a discovery call after sending the application; the form takes five minutes and lets us prepare the call. Or write to info@bwitilife.com.

What should I bring?

Light clothes, a sweater for ceremony nights, sandals, your medications in their original boxes, your lab results and ECG, a notebook. The preparation guidelines have the full list. Leave the alcohol and the expectations at home.
