Terms and conditions
The conditions under which Bwiti Life accepts applications, receives payments and hosts guests at its center on the Mayan Riviera near Cancun, Mexico. Last updated 8 September 2026.
All payments made to Bwiti Life are final and non-refundable. This applies in every circumstance, including cancellation by the guest for any reason, a change of mind, illness, travel disruption, visa refusal, late arrival, no-show, early departure, exclusion from the program for medical reasons disclosed by the participant after payment, exclusion for breach of these terms or of the house rules, and force majeure. Please do not pay until you are certain, and please take out travel and cancellation insurance that covers you.
At its sole discretion, Bwiti Life may offer to transfer a paid place to a later retreat date, once, subject to availability. Such an offer is a courtesy, never an obligation, and never a refund.
"Bwiti Life", "we" and "us" refer to the operator of the retreat programs presented on bwitilife.com, hosted at our center on the Mayan Riviera near Cancun, Mexico. "You" refers to the person applying for or attending a program. Contact: info@bwitilife.com.
Programs, durations, inclusions and prices are described on the pricing section and in the application form. Prices are in US dollars and include what is listed there; they exclude flights, travel insurance, laboratory tests requested before arrival, personal expenses and anything not expressly listed. Prices and dates may change until your place is confirmed in writing.
Submitting an application does not reserve a place. Every applicant goes through a discovery call and a medical screening by our medical team, which may request laboratory tests, an ECG or medical records. We may decline or postpone an application at any stage, before or after payment, when the medical team considers the program unsafe for you. We do not have to give reasons.
You must answer every medical and personal question truthfully and completely, and tell us of any change before arrival. Withholding or misrepresenting information, in particular about medications, heart conditions, psychiatric history or substance use, is a breach of these terms, puts your life at risk, and leads to exclusion without refund.
Your place is confirmed once we have received the payment described in your confirmation and you have been cleared by the medical team. Full payment is due before arrival. Bank charges and currency conversion costs are yours. By paying, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms, including the no-refund clause above.
Iboga is a powerful medicine with real physical and psychological risks, including cardiac risks. Our screening, cardiac protocol and 24/7 medical supervision reduce these risks; they do not remove them. Before any ceremony you will sign an informed consent form after a conversation with the medical team. If you do not sign it, you cannot take part in the ceremonies, and no refund is due.
The program is not a substitute for ongoing medical or psychiatric treatment. Do not stop any prescribed treatment without the agreement of your treating physician and our medical team.
We may change a retreat date, the composition of the team or the program schedule when safety, weather, travel restrictions or circumstances beyond our control require it. If we cancel a retreat entirely and cannot offer you another date, we will refund the amounts you paid for that retreat; this is the only case in which a refund is made. We are not liable for flights, insurance or other costs you incurred.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bwiti Life, its practitioners, medical team and staff are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for loss or damage to your belongings, or for events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence.
The information you send us is used to evaluate your application, to keep you safe during the program and to follow your integration. It is shared only with our practitioners and medical team, as stated in the application form. What you share in ceremony and in group sessions is confidential, and we ask every guest to keep it so. Photos and videos of other guests are not allowed without their consent. See also our cookie policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably will be brought before the competent courts of Quintana Roo, Mexico. If any clause is found invalid, the others remain in force.
